Poetry Reading featuring Courtney Faye Taylor

The Raven Book Store is delighted to host a night of reading on February 28 at 7 p.m., featuring Courtney Faye Taylor, award-winning author of the virtuosic debut, "Concentrate," and Lawrence poet Mercedes Lucero. After the readings, Taylor and Lucero will discuss everything under the poetic moon, from creative practice to innovation to the future of form and experimentation.

B.L.A.C.K. Lawrence is celebrating 5 years as an artist collective with a special line-up of performances, merch, website release, & more! Huge thanks to the Replay for hosting us.
Our mission is to elevate Black art in the Midwest, provide networking opportunities for artists, promote fair pay, & bolster local education around topics of Black history, health, literature, & art. We can proudly say we've done that!
This event celebrates our creative projects past & present, including an upcoming audiobook & music video. It's also a beacon to Black artists in the area: come on down to meet us & learn how you can get involved. We've always been FREE to join.
